For 2013, the Small Business Administration estimates that federal agencies alone awarded nearly 24% of their prime contract opportunities to small businesses, achieving an “A” grade in meeting their statutory goals. The SBA also estimates that:

  • 6% went to small disadvantaged businesses
  • 4% went to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses
